The industries PPUK work in are dynamic, change is constant. Whether it is adapting to evolving market demands, geo-political demands, searching for greater efficiency or to the most unfortunate factory closers, businesses (like you) find themselves with surplus equipment.
As circular economists, one of PPUK’s key roles is to procure this equipment in the best way possible.
This blog article will aim to answer the questions:
‘How can we help you?’
‘How can you help us?’
‘Why should you prioritise moving your redundant equipment?’
The Process
It is not a secret that, the industry has changed with the advancement of technology. From what used to be the ‘yellow pages’ & phonebooks, it is now WhatsApp, LinkedIn, and E-mail campaigns.
BUT one thing that has not changed. ARE the experience and expertise needed to give your redundant assets a second life.
This is where Poseidon Pharmaceutical UK LTD excel.
PPUK’s team boast a combined experience of 45+ years in this industry. The standards, that these 45 years uphold, are how we provide circular economic solutions to the manufacturing industry.
1. Sourcing
In the search for redundant equipment, PPUK source machines that are reliable, have a good service history, and recognisable for their technical qualities. Therefore, PPUK partner with companies, across Europe, that have high-tech processes, strong heritage, and a good reputation.
2. Information Gather
When you have contacted us our procurement team goes through an initial asset assessment. This entails basic details and photos of the redundant machinery. The team, then, study these details to decide whether to further proceed.
In order to maintain our high standards, the procurement team would visit the site to produce an ‘On-Site Inspection Report’. Depending on the number of redundant machines, the team would spend adequate time understanding the history, condition, and potential second life the machine has.
Following our trip in the UK, we spent 2 full working days analysing 30 redundant machines. To see more about this click here
When our procurement team returns to our facilities, we take appropriate time studying the information we gathered, thinking primarily about stress tests, logistics, market conditions and valuations.
3. Purchase & Shipping
Once an offer has been accepted, PPUK work between 1 week and a month to clear the purchased assets.
Within this time, we always support you:
· The procured machinery always come to our facilities in Newport, Shropshire, England.
· We will advise and support with logistics. Supplying our transport for redundant equipment, maximising efficiency and effectiveness.
· Supervising the loading of the machinery onto our transportation vehicles.
· We will support our customer as it comes to preparation for export paperwork, including international paperwork- if it is necessary.
Once it is in our hands, it is off yours.
So why should you prioritise moving your redundant equipment?
Idle assets are not neutral assets.
Redundant machinery causes a lot of costs:
· Asset values consistently depreciate.
· Storage, maintenance, and disposal fees.
· Carbon costs.
By giving your surplus redundant machinery, a second life you:
· Maximise asset value.
· Save on floor space, storage costs, maintenance costs, and future disposal issues.
· Saves GHG Scope 3 waste carbon accounting.
· And you become a circular economy contributor.
